More than 200 USPTA teaching pros and high school coaches were on hand for the USPTA NorCal Convention Feb. 6-8, hosted by Dick Gould and Stanford University.
The three-day event, which had plenty of laughter and networking, was highlighted by presentations from coaching whiz Rick Macci, Bob Love, Kirk Anderson, Marvin Dent, Don Henson, Jak Beardsworth, Kathy Woods and Jimmy (yeah, he’s Larry’s brother) Parker. And ‘08 awards were given to Courtside’s Tim Sunderland (Pro of the Year), Josh Uran (Associate Pro of the Year), Monty Basnyat (Regional Director of the Year), Martha Downing (Women’s Senior Plaer of the Year), Geoff Martinez (Men’s Senior Player of the Year), Jason Scalese (High School Coach of the year), Pacific Athletic Club (Facility of the Year), Rodney Kop (Lifetime Achievement Award) and the Claremont’s Rosie Bareis (Service to Tennis Award).
