Rafa Nadal concluded a four-set final, complicated by rain delays and stretched over two days, with a 6-4, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 win over Novak Djokovic. Both players were trying to make history. Nadal dashed Djokovic’s hopes of becoming the first player since Rod Laver in 1969 to hold four consecutive grand slam wins. Rafa, “The King of Clay,” became the first player ever to win seven French Opens.
