It was the best place in town to play because tennis was taken seriously. I had many opportunities to meet the greatest players in the game including Arthur Ashe, Billy Jean King, Boris Becker, and on and on. I also got to know Alan's son Steve because he played at the adjacent court each week with his friend. The next generation has an exemplary model to follow.
