UCI Begins Fall Play
The UC Irvine men will begin play at the ITA All American in Tulsa in October. Last season, the team had a Big West record nine players earn All-Big West honors, including now sophomores Steven Henderson (Poway HS), Fabian Matthews (Corona del Mar HS), Sam Gould (Hamilton, New Zealand) , freshman Jon Kazarian (Rancho Palos Verdes/Peninsula HS) as well as now juniors Khunpol Issara (Bangkok, Thailand), Stephen Stege (Los Gatos HS) and Gautam Vaidyanathan (University HS).
The UC Irvine women’s tennis team was named an ITA All-Academic Team and two current players earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors including Miranda Young and Stephanie Hammel, who was also named Big West Freshman of the Year.
