Sanchez ended her sophomore year with a 27-11 record in singles at the top of the lineup.
“Overall, it was a great year,” said Sanchez. “It was disappointing when we lost in the second round in the NCAA.”
The team was the No. 7 seed in their 18th consecutive NCAA appearance, but lost to the University of Washington. USC ended the season at 21-3 and maintained its nationally ranking of No. 9.
“I’m happy so far, but I’m still striving to go farther,” said Sanchez.
“I want to keep improving.”
After this year’s collegiate season, Sanchez took a month off before returning to the courts.
